When you’re planning your next charter fishing trip, you need to pack everything you need. Here’s a simple guide to prepare well for a great charter fishing trip.
Equipment
If it’s your first fishing trip, you want to ensure that you’re using the right equipment. Contact your fishing charter company to check for special advice or recommendations for you and your group, based on the fish you want to catch.
Clothing
You need to dress right in order to enjoy your trip to the fullest. Bulky clothes can be stifling, while under dressing could cause sunburns. So, pack light, summery clothes that allow you to move around freely, but aren’t too delicate. Gloves are essential to keep your hands safe from cuts and windbreakers will protect you from rough winds on the sea.
Medicines
Someone on the group might suddenly get seasick, or get sunburns. Make sure you carry a few over-the-counter solutions for any problems you might encounter at sea. Pack a first aid kit too.
Keep the weather at bay
In case the weather turns, you should be prepared. While you pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, don’t forget a few lightweight scarves. Add a rain jacket, in case it rains.
Right Storage
Keep an extra collapsible backpack in case you need to carry something back. Take a waterproof bag/cover for your electronic equipment.
Don’t forget to take plenty of water and snacks with you. Most charter companies usually carry big coolers with ice to keep your catch fresh on the way back but check with them once!
